Discussion on ICL surgical standards and international experience

Mr. Choromanski spoke highly of the hospital’s ICL program, including its surgical standardization and achievements in aligning with international practice.

He explained that ICL implantation has been used globally for nearly 30 years and is now available in more than 75 countries. ICL lenses are made from the proprietary collagen copolymer material Collamer, which has strong tissue compatibility and does not cause rejection. The surgery also preserves the integrity of the eye structure to the greatest extent possible, helping more patients enjoy the clear visual experience brought by ICL implantation.

Equipment and expert team support surgical quality

To ensure the safety and precision of ICL surgery, the hospital has introduced a series of professional ophthalmic examination systems, including UBM ultrasound biomicroscopy, IOLMaster 700, OCULUS Corvis ST corneal biomechanics analysis and Pentacam HR anterior-segment assessment. These platforms support a multi-layer safety system for myopia surgery.

The refractive surgery center expert team led by Xiao Qirui and Li Qing comprehensively evaluates each patient’s ocular condition based on preoperative examination results, performs precise calculations and customizes the lens for each eye, maximizing surgical safety, intraoperative precision and postoperative effectiveness.

Mr. Choromanski praised the hospital’s rigorous and standardized approach to preoperative examination and precise calculation for ICL implantation.
